Vincent Breed is a Contemporary Glass Sculptor
Born in 1971, Vincent Breed has been living and working in Lyon. He has devoted all his energies to the creation of glass sculptures after his studies in industrial Design, Decorative Arts and compagnonnage with the most famous international glass training craftsmen.
As a contemporary glass artist, Vincent Breed can create sophisticated and highly original glass sculptures that require a long and very precise preparation. The shape of the sculpture is always the result of the glassblowing that reveals all its perfection and high quality in the blending of the technical precision and artistic vision of the sculptor.
Vincent Breed has Always Contributed to the Progress of the World Glass Arts
Today, Vincent Breed is an international contemporary glass artist well-known for his collaborations with Yves Saint Laurent French designer, French chef Paul Bocuse, French architect Jean Nouvel, product designer Matali Crasset, artist and designer Hilton McConnico, designer and interior architect Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, contemporary artist Rirkrit Tiravanija and art designer Le Gentil Garçon.
He exhibited or has been exhibiting his art works in Design Center of NYC, Hotel Phoenicia in Beyruth, Millionar Fair in Moscow, Hotel Murano in Paris, Maya Bay in Monaco, One Pacific Heights in Hong-Kong, the Glass Museum in Murano…

Au Placard, one of his last sculptures, has also been exhibited in Georges Verney-Carron’s gallery situated in Lyon Confluent since 6 April.
Vincent Breed’s Au Placard is an artwork of pure wonder.
The glass lungs locked up in the two opened coffins symbolize the end of the world glass arts. If the black glinting surface of the lungs gives a noble sense of purity to the glass works, the black coffins of two different sizes foreshadow the death of the glass arts’ heritage that is passed down from preceding generations.

Georges Verney-Carron has organized Regards sur la Ville exhibition (Views of the City) to show the changes of the urban landscape that has become more polluted, violent and anonymous.
Most of the art works exhibited in Regards sur la ville exhibition show the artists ‘ pessimistic view of the urban landscape that is usually built without their participation.
However, Georges Verney-Carron is convinced that the architect and the artist should work closely together in the urban projects of the future cities.
The modern area of Lyon Confluent exemplifies this close partnership between an urban and an artistic vision of the city’s landscape.
