Your French résumé
In France, you do have to send an English version of your CV, except if you are required to do so. Most French employers do not speak English, even if the international profiles are always highly appreciated.
Your French résumé should be very clear and concise, but also correspond to your profile. You may prefer a résumé that highlights your study if you have just left the university, or your work experience if you have been working for over 10 years.
At the same time, your résumé should attract the employer’s attention since he usually receives hundreds of CVs every week. It should be very professional: there cannot be any spelling mistakes or confusing words. It should be considered as the unique identity card of your profile by the employer.
Let’s study this standard French résumé and see why it is a very professional CV:

This French résumé is very clear since the employer has all the contact information and the candidate’s photo at first.
Then, he can easily see the different sections that are in blue bold type. He can also identify the candidate’s profile and see if it corresponds to his expectations since the dates and titles are in bold type.
So, he can use this CV very easily when he meets the candidate for a job interview or if he wants to compare it with other CVs.If you need to write a French résumé, see our Writing services on Lyon City Blog.
